Why Hobbyists Love Discounted Crafts?
A person engages his free time in doing crafts in the form of hobbies. A hobby for many people is love to an art honed to become a craft through constant practice. It may be another source of income or only for past time and decorative purposes. This has something to do how a person’s craft is related to culture or way of life.
For some people indulging into a craft is expensive. But for others there are other means to have fun while doing their crafts and without spending a lot of money. Searching for raw materials for a craft may seem hard but it is not. I know of friends that gets less expensive materials for their craft or hobby. I am amazed sometimes when they get it for free.
One time, I asked a friend to bring me to where he is getting his materials for his hobby. Honestly, I almost beg him. He obliged and on a bright Saturday morning he went by to my house and told me to come with him. We drive pass the department stores and he brought me to a flea market. I wowed at what I saw. There are a lot of discounted craft materials for sale. It is almost you pay for it nothing with what you can get for your money. There are a lot of enthusiastic hobbyists running around hunting and negotiating for more price-cut for discounted crafts in the market field. Stalls cover a lot of various materials for different crafts. You name it and they are everywhere in what I saw. I told my friend, “So this is where you go every time you have a project huh?” He smiled at me and convinced me to have a unique hobby for myself which I will develop into a craft. I answered him, “Yeah why not”. His teeth grinned.
We walked to stalls selling discounted crafts materials for handicrafts. My friend is fond of making decorative frames. I see he has a lot of flair for this type of craft. He makes frames of different designs, sizes, colors and forms. He told me he is going to put pictures of his family in the frames to commemorate memorable moments of their family together. I have known his family to be so close and I admire them. I see how important to my friends their moments together. I can see it on the frames with their pictures already. Their smiles show how much each of them love each other.
